Sailor Saturn's Profile

       Hotaru Tomoe is a shy, quiet girl who doesn't have many friends. She attends Mugen Gakuen during the sixth grade, and lives with her father Professor Tomoe. Her mother died when she was young, so Kaolinite lives with her and her father as a housekeeper. Hotaru's classmates are afraid of her because she hurts them but doesn't seem to remember anything. Though Hotaru doesn't do it on purpose there is something that makes her do these strange things. Also Hotaru is not able to take part in athletic activities or she will get exhausted and faint. Hotaru makes up for that weakness by having the power to heal, but even after she uses the power to heal she becomes exhausted.

      When Hotaru first appeared on the show she was sitting in a park reading a book, when all of a sudden she heard a girl scream for someone to catch her hat. Hotaru tried to catch the hat before it was blown into the lake, and luckily she caught it in time. The girl, who is Chibi-Usa, ran up to Hotaru and thanked her for catching her hat. When all of a sudden Hotaru has an attack, starts shaking, and wasn't able to breath. Later when a youma attacks Chibi-Usa and Hotaru, Chibi-Usa jumps in front of Hotaru to protect her from the youma. After the fight was over Chibi-Usa noticed her knee was scraped, and Hotaru had noticed it as well. She healed Chibi-Usa's knee and Chibi-Usa was surprised at what she was able to do. Hotaru explained to Chibi-Usa that her classmates are afraid of her because of her strange power. After Hotaru healed Chibi-Usa's knee Chibi-Usa wanted to be Hotaru's friend.

      After Pluto, Uranus, and Neptune find out that Hotaru is the Messiah they tried to kill her, though Chibi-Usa tried with all her might to protect Hotaru from the three. In the end Kaolinite takes Hotaru away and no one knows where she was taken. While Chibi-Usa was at Hotaru's house looking for her Kaolinite kidnapped Chibi-Usa. So the Senshi start looking for the base of the Death Busters, Chibi-Usa, and Hotaru. When they finally find the base, they found Hotaru who was sitting on a throne and Kaolinite shows up with Chibi-Usa. Without notice a hand comes out of Hotaru's mouth and takes Chibi-Usa's pure heart crystal. Hotaru transforms into Mistress 9 who is trying to ruin the world and get the Holy Grail from Sailor Moon. Later on Sailor Moon gives Hotaru the Holy Grail willingly to try and save Hotaru, but Mistress 9 calls on Pharaoh 90 to destroy the world. While Hotaru is trapped inside of Mistress 9 she is still fighting to defeat Mistress 9. When Hotaru realized that she isn't going to let Mistress 9 destroy the world she became Sailor Saturn. Sailor Saturn destroyed Mistress 9 from inside her. Since Hotaru had found out her mission in life, and since Sailor Moon wasn't able to transform into Super Sailor Moon, Sailor Saturn went to fight Pharaoh 90. Sailor Moon gathered strength from the other Senshi and powered up to Super Sailor Moon and went to help fight. When the fight was over Hotaru was reborn into a baby, and everyone found out Sailor Moon was the Messiah.

      In the beginning of the Stars series Setsuna goes and gets Hotaru from Professor Tomoe because her power is once again needed since someone broke the seal that was placed on Neherenia. When Setsuna caught up with Haruka and Michiru they were about to fight some of Neherenia's youma's when all of a sudden one of them was going to attack Hotaru, but none of the Senshi could help baby Hotaru. When Hotaru awoke she was reborn to about 4 years old. So Hotaru stays with Haruka, Michiru and Setsuna and they take care of her. Hotaru calls them Hakura-papa, Michiru-mama, and Setsuna-mama since they are like parents to her. Then during the night the guardian of Hotaru, Sailor Saturn, comes to Hotaru for her to awake as the Senshi of Death and Rebirth. Sailor Saturn gives Hotaru back all her memories.

      When Neherenia attacks and takes Mamoru, who is under a spell, Chibi-Usa starts to disappear because of the time twist and if Usagi and Mamoru don't get married Chibi-Usa won't be born. So all the Senshi go to fight Neherenia Hotaru and Chibi-Usa get to Neherenia castle and Chibi-Usa tries to get Mamoru out of the spell by trying to tell him that she will die if she continues to disappear. Chibi-Usa almost gets through to Mamoru but Neherenia stops Chibi-Usa by making the curse worse. Hotaru is about to use Silence Glaive Surprise to kill Neherenia and says she believes in the prince and princess. While Hotaru does the attack Chibi-Usa stops Hotaru from completing the attack and says to trust in Usagi. Since Hotaru was off guard Neherenia trapped Sailor Saturn into a dream mirror like all the rest of the Senshi.

      Later in the Stars series when Galaxia tries to control the who galaxy Hotaru appears again to destroy the evil in Galaxia, but Galaxia tells Hotaru that she was the one who forced her to awake because Galaxia didn't want any premature star seeds. Sailor Saturn had told Sailor Star Fight to believe in Sailor Moon because the have a common goal to protect the world and Sailor Moon. Uranus and Neptune try and trick Galaxia by becoming her soldiers and working for them. To prove their loyalty they took Sailor Pluto's and Saturn's star seeds and they died. Hotaru and all the Senshi are revived when Sailor Moon destroys all the evil in Galaxia. The final scene Hotaru is in is when they are outside watching shooting stars and Setsuna asks Hotaru what she wished for, but she said it was a secret. When Hotaru asked Setsuna what she had wished for Setsuna responded with the same thing as Hotaru said. Then Hotaru asks what Haruka and Michiru wished for and they said there was nothing in the world to wish for.
